Trilobites appeared approx. 520million years ago during the Cambrian era, they are a group of extinct marine arthropods.  They lived for approximately 300 million years during the  Palaeozoic Era.  They died out approx. 250 million years ago during the Permian mass extinction event that removed over 90% of all species on Earth.
